The library of modular luminaires, distributed according to the diameters of the lamps used, has been developed for quick designing of lighting plans and creating a 3D model. Parametric light sources provide settings for any type of the lamp geometry (rectangular, round), as well as for fast changes in design depending on the installation. By adjusting the parameters it is possible to model a luminaire of almost any real manufacturer of modular luminaires. The Modular Lights 1.1 Library Parts: d035, d050, d070, d111.

Technical details

— All Fixtures contain from 1 to 5 lamps. Permissible types of mounting and shapes of the luminaires are shown in the figure above.

— The practical 2D-symbol shows the real dimensions of the fixtures and the placement of lamps. In the 2D view, you can use the built-in Marker. The top line of the Marker shows the ID of the ARCHICAD object. The text of the bottom line of the Marker is customized by the user at his discretion.

— In the Luminaires there are settings of Materials of all parts, mechanisms of the luminaire and the lamp.

— The rotation of the luminaire is adjusted by a three-dimensional hotspot indicating the direction of the outgoing ray of the lamp by simply placing the hotspot on the desired spot of the plane or an object in the 3D view.

Workflow

  1. Place the Luminaire in the 3D view by clicking on the desired spot on the Ceiling or a Wall. If it is a wall, designate an installation angle of ⦟90 ° or ⦟270 °. When installing the luminaire in the floor, specify the required installation angle ⦟180 ° in the parameters.

  2. If the Luminaire is to be built into the ceiling, it will automatically go deeper into the ceiling or suspended structures. For modeling in in a ceiling niche for a Luminaire, use Solid Element Operations with the option Subtraction with downward extrusion.

  3. Edit the number of lamps simply by moving hotspots in the 3D view or on the Floor plan.

  4. To rotate the mechanisms, just specify the direction of the light by the vector hotspot (Place the hotspot at the desired spot of the plane or object in the 3D view). Rotations of the axes will occur automatically.

Common Functions

— IP : 20, 22, 23, 43, 44, 55, 65;

— the ability to select the type of device mounting has been added:

  1. img built-in open in frame;
  2. img built-in closed in frame;
  3. img built-in without frame;
  4. img on surface;
  5. img on surface with a U-shaped hull;
  6. img on surface with a L-shaped hull;
  7. img on surface opened (spotlight);

— the choice of a round or square shape of the luminaire has been added. Taking a built-in lamp as example of the built-in lamp, the form variants look like this:

imgimgimgimgimg

2D

— Hotspots in the center for dimension binding and in the geometric center of the object have been added. A hotspot supports dynamic resizing when moving an object.

3D

— a set of accessories for lamps corresponds to each Object of the Luminary Library. Their set and appearance are shown on the paragraphs of fixtures; — on / off display and adjustment of the placement of springs of built-in lamps.

Schedules and specifications

— all objects of the Modular Lights Library correspond to the general properties for calculations in ARCHICAD;
